Smart Guard Systems introduces world’s first H.264 – HD/ MP cameras with embedded video analytics

AHMEDABAD (April 9, 2010) -- Smart Guard Systems, a subsidiary of eInfochips, has launched world's first H.264 - HD/Megapixel IP cameras with embedded video analytics. Smart video analytics are used for analyzing the video for specific data, behavior, objects or attitude. It transforms the passive video surveillance into a powerful, proactive sensor for threat detection, situational awareness and risk mitigation.

Smart embedded analytics features include intrusion detection, people and object counting, intelligent object tracking, object categorization, multi-tripwire and location of interest identification to assist detect security breaches rapidly and more precisely. The smart embedded analytics features also include tuning of object size and sensitivity, determining the speed, direction of travel and location, identifying suspicious movement, loitering, detection of left objects, queue length monitoring at counter, slip and fall detection and much more.

Looking at the present market requirements, the company has developed H.264.MP Cameras, which deliver crisp and clear images using progressive scan 1.3M Sony CMOS sensor / 5M CMOS Aptina sensor, thus offering superior video quality in its class and supporting H.264, MPEG4 and motion JPEG in full-frame rate. Smart Guard's IP cameras are enabled with Power-over-Ethernet, which eliminates the need for power cables and reduces installation costs.

"Smart Guard Systems is the first organization in the world that provides a unique combination of HD/mega pixel cameras with H.264 technology and embedded video analytics. At the same time, we are pleased to announce that we are the first company in the world to offer megapixel cameras based on the Texas Instruments TMS320DM365 DaVinci™ video processor with object video (OV) on-board embedded video analytics," says Gurudas Parwani, CEO, Smart Guard Systems.

Smart analytics are implemented at firmware level, embedded into small chip called digital signal processor (DSP), in IP cameras, encoders and DVRs. These smart analytics are also implemented at the server level and run on a processor inside a computer, in a designated server for video analytics in a command center or control room.

"Texas Instruments (TI) and Smart Guard have worked closely in past years to address customer requirements in solving complex engineering solutions. TI is extremely excited with the range of differentiated offerings from Smart Guard Systems based on the TMS320DM365 DaVinci video processor, targeted at the growing market for video security and smart analytics products," says Praveen K Ganapathy, Director, Business Development, Texas Instruments India.

Smart embedded video analytics have a wide range of applications, including safety and security. Possible applications of analytics software over the IP-based video surveillance system. These Smart video analytics can be used in many applications, which demand IP surveillance. This can be used primarily in monitoring railways, airports, banks, ATMs, retail shops, departmental stores, m, logistic segments, schools, homes and mobile vans -- the list of applications is endless.
